I had heard about NeoCities from a Medium article titled "I miss the old internet." The author laments about how gone are the old days of individual creativity and having a purpose in a budding community of internet anarchists; to the current wave of the enveloping black hole of corperatism, which seeks to conquer and divide the webspace for monetary booty. Now, I can't relate what I feel about the author's perspective to my own since I didn't grow up during the infant years of the internet, but the growing trend of monetization of a free platform really does irk me. While I was reading, my mind couldn't help but be reminded of someone I know very personally who had mentioned the quirky and now defunct GeoCities.
P.S I don't know the original title of the Medium article or the author. I read this article awhile ago.
